The YPG curriculum has helped me have a solid curriculum for the music production part of my classes. Lawrence does a good job in the videos explaining the concepts. I usually pause from time to time and give some input to be sure that the concepts are understood by my students, as it is sometimes a lot to take in. As someone who has taught basic music theory for many years, and love teaching it to help young people prepare for further musical study, I find it interesting that the YPG curriculum gets the students introduced to music theory, but kind of backwards from the way that I have always taught it. YPG has the students start by creating music right away using pre-recorded loops and samples, then has them start to make their own music with non-pitched percussion, and eventually starts having them ease into creating their own melodies and harmonies.
